The Women in Tech SEO London Festival was back for the sixth time on February 20th, 2025. This is the community’s flagship event, and a two-day experience was offered this time.

Women in Tech SEO is a global community of people working in the SEO and marketing industry. The community’s mission is to foster empowerment, collaboration, and inclusivity by providing a supportive space for members to share their expertise, experiences, and knowledge.
Through various events, workshops, webinars, and networking opportunities, the group encourages professional growth, mentorship, and exchanging ideas among its members.
The first day delivered interactive workshops on Mentorship, Creative Problem-Solving, Communication Skills, and Personal Branding.
The second day was dedicated to the conference itself, with about 400 amazing attendees gathered to learn from industry experts on topics like SEO, marketing, and personal development. The day was packed with valuable talks and offered fantastic opportunities to gain insights from top professionals while connecting with incredible people.
The full-day conference featured presentations from ten passionate professionals organised into four distinct themes:
- Analyse – State of the industry and analytical
- Advance – Next-level and future-proofing
- Innovate – New technologies and emerging strategies
- Empower – Career development and growth
Majestic was honoured to sponsor the event, and our team felt privileged to participate in such an inspiring occasion. They found the experience uplifting, and wanted to share their perspectives on this meaningful gathering.

“The sixth edition of the Women in Tech SEO event was truly wonderful!
Areej and all the lovely volunteers were hands-on, checked in regularly to see how we were getting on, and asked if they could help with anything.
The team is incredibly thoughtful, and I truly appreciate how they work to make the event inclusive and a safe space for everyone. For example, the food menu included vegan and halal options, a quiet room and a prayer room were available, and the attendees were also reminded of the community values, such as being respectful and kind to all.
Whilst we were exhibiting at the event, we could also attend the talks that took place throughout the day. We left the sessions with wonderful new knowledge and fresh outlooks.
The talk that stood out for me, in particular, was “The Accessibility Advantage” by Lyssa-Fêe Crump. The speaker discussed why it’s essential to ensure websites are accessible and usable for everyone, and this should be a primary concern for anyone who works within the online space.
There was also a discussion that SEO and accessibility can go hand-in-hand and, through practical SEO work, can make the content easy to understand. Lyssa-Fêe highlighted that making your site accessible not only benefits those who need it but also creates a smoother, more user-friendly experience for everyone.
Search engines also favour accessible sites. Practical and actionable examples were shared to demonstrate how websites can be made more accessible. For instance, strong colour contrast helps users with visual impairments, colour blindness, or low vision easily read your content.
Additionally, implementing a responsive design that adapts smoothly to different screen sizes ensures all users can engage with your content regardless of their needs.
Overall, the event was a huge success, and I want to thank the attendees, speakers, volunteers, and organisers for making it such an incredible experience. Whether you’re just starting or have years of experience, there’s something for everyone. It’struly a unique and valuable opportunity.”

I had the pleasure of attending the WTS Festival last week at the Barbican centre in London.
As someone relatively new to the industry, being part of such an inclusive and welcoming community and having the opportunity to attend the event was an invaluable experience.
Alongside exhibiting at the event and being able to speak to so many likeminded individuals at the Majestic stand, I was also able to listen to the wonderful talks presented by such great speakers.
It was an eye-opening experience that portrayed just how broad and diverse the SEO industry is.
One of the talks that stood out the most for me was “The Power of Social Trends for SEO” by Meg Sharma. The talk used relevant examples of recent trends such as “girl maths” and “girl dinner” to explain how trends arise and how we can spot trends at early stages to implement them into our SEO strategies.
It was an interesting talk that touched on whether trends should exist and why certain sounds and videos on social media can become so trendy.
Another fascinating talk was “Who’s been messing up everything? It was SEO all along” by Alice Rowan.
This talk touched on the idea that SEO alone cannot save a bad website, unlike its widely believed. Alice recommended saving SEO efforts for content that is regularly updated as SEO strategies are constantly changing and need to be kept up to date.
It was great how she was able to simplify such a technical talk and recommend tips and tricks to ensure everyone could understand and learn from her talk, regardless of their skills and expertise.
Alice’s talk was very interactive and interesting, which made it incredibly fun to listen to.
Overall, attending the WTS Festival was an invaluable experience. There was lots to learn and do and being part of such a welcoming and empowering community is an experience I will never forget.
I would definitely recommend attending the event if you ever get the chance.
Thank you
A huge thank you and heartfelt gratitude to Areej AbuAli and everyone who contributed towards making this event possible. The team put in tremendous effort to ensure everyone had a great time, and we truly appreciate it.
