Another technology leap just happened at Majestic.
Eagle eyed customers may have noticed increases in referrer domain counts across the board in our Fresh Index over the last few days. For example the chart below shows big increases in referring domains pointing to Google.DE:
So how did we do it? We’ve been extensively testing a new algorithm designed to dramatically increase coverage within the Fresh Index. Our primary focus was to increase the referring domain counts, rather than back links on this occasion. Pure back-link counts on their own can be a very misleading metric.

Good stuff guys. I’ve noticed quite an impact with some sites I monitor in Brazil. Seeing as your eg above is .de, do these welcome changes apply more to non-English regions?
