Majestic is increasing the amount of data you get in Site Explorer. At the same time we are making some changes to our pricing structures. Existing customers and (most) new customers will, we expect, now get more data for the same money, except that new Majestic Silver Plan users will be encouraged to sign up to quarterly payments rather than monthly payments.
More data? Yay! Where do I see more data?
The extra data is in the Site Explorer reports. We are doubling the rows of data that Silver accounts get, and TREBLING the rows of data the Gold and Platinum accounts enjoy. The rows of data can most easily be seen when you try to download the screen data from Site Explorer (see screenshot). This is different to the “Raw export” button that gives you all the links (which is the little white down arrow next to the bucket icon).
What are the upgraded amounts
- Silver – 5000 rows (up from 2500)
- Gold – 15000 rows (up from 5000)
- Platinum – 30000 rows (up from 10000)
- Majestic 500 – 40000 rows
- Majestic 1000 – 50000 rows
I want more than 50,000 Back-links. Is that possible?
Oh certainly. Advanced reports give these, and the advanced reports are not changing in this update.
Wait – What was that about changing prices?
Don’t worry, our pricing tweak does not affect existing customers. All new customers can still secure the equivalent of the existing Monthly Silver price of £29.99 (US$ 49.99 €39.99), if they commit to a 3-month payment schedule. However, we have raised the price of our Monthly Silver plan for new customers only to £44.99 (US$ 78.99 €54.99)
If you are already on one of our subscription packages, then these changes will NOT affect you. However, cancelling a monthly subscription after today will mean that if you return to Majestic in the future, you will need to make a choice – either to take the special offer to pay quarterly in advance at the monthly equivalent of £29.99 (US$ 49.99/€39.99) and get the same rate, or pay £44.99 (US$ 78.99/€54.99) a month if you are not ready to commit to a quarterly payment schedule.
Annual plans are not affected.
Why Did We Do That?
White hats engage with Majestic for the long term. They understand the benefits of a subscription model allow us to spread the cost of “on boarding” over time. Others though, jump in for one month then cancel. They return a few months later for a one-off hit and then cancel again. Of course we understand why people do this at times, but there is a cost to us. Rather than up the price for every customer, we have decided to only increase the tariff for those users who prefer short-term fixes.
Does anyone else do this?
Absolutely. In fact – many of the market leading products mandate users into annual contracts. We do not feel the need to lock users in for a year, although we do offer nice incentives at checkout for users that do buy a year in advance.
What about annual packages?
We have always offered 12 months for the price of 10 for users buying through a traditional credit card route (or by invoice for annual Gold and above) and with this release, we have also allowed you to buy annuals via Paypal in UK Pounds for the first time. This means that the CHEAPEST monthly equivalent is to buy a Silver on an annual basis… which works out at less than £25 a month.
Is that still less than the competitors?
We still have the lowest cost of entry compared to any other major link intelligence engine. We still have the biggest data set and the one that goes back furthest in time. What’s more, we still have by far the most advanced analysis algorithm with Topical Trust Flow taking us to the next level.
I don’t like this change, how do I avoid it?
Simple. Don’t cancel your current monthly subscription. Although we are still going to give you more data! 🙂
What will Majestic do with the extra money?
We don’t anticipate that there will be that much extra money – just more resilience. In addition, we continue to develop at a furious pace and we are now investing in some big new ideas which will require some deep dive work at this end.

Have you done something to the number of api calls allowed. I’m burning through my credits far too quickly.
November 3, 2014 at 10:15 pmHi Mark,
November 4, 2014 at 9:07 amNot as part of this release – but last week we patched an issue where some calls were not getting counted properly. In particular GetIndexItemInfo. The amounts are the same, but now they are better tracked. If you set up a support ticket, we can check if you are likely to be affected, although we contacted those most affected in advance of the change.
Too bad, majestic is the best. But can no longer afford it on my own.
November 4, 2014 at 9:35 amIf you already have an account, you are not affected (Except to get more data).
November 13, 2014 at 9:19 amGood news! 🙂
