Here’s a sneaky little trick you can do to easily keep a track of how often Majestic SEO fully updates its Fresh Index calculations. You can usually see Screen Shot 2014-01-09 at 11.43.41from our home page that we are constantly updating our index, but there are a huge number of iterative calculations that go on in the background that involve the whole data set, so very few days we recalculate all these.

Whilst we generally announce when our Historic index gets updated (usually monthly) the full Fresh data updates too often to keep on shouting about it. However, we have a report type in beta called “tracking reports”. These reports will track the important details – link counts, Flow metrics etc, for any web page over time. This is the ONLY place that we record historical Flow Metric data by the way – and we only start recording it for your a site once a tracking report is created… so if you have never used tracking reports, you should. They are only available to paying customers of course, but they do not require large resources to start.

In the tracking reports, there is a table like this:

You can see the exact time and date that we updated the reports – which will be very close to the full cycle update. You can also flip over to the Historic data as well and see when our historic index updated – but again you can only do this after you start your tracking report.
